The Planters resemble crucibles or casting boxes from the steel works by Mark Veevers (1997) were part of 5 metal pieces by different artists made and installed in Sheffield City Centre for the Metal Heaven Project. The planters were removed from Fargate and by 2006 stand adjacent to the Hallamshire University Hubs (formerly National Centre for Popular Music), Brown Street. The discs/flanges that protrude from the main planters are intended as seats.
